Handgun Defense Facts
- 40% of those shot in the heart will survive.
- If shot in the heart a person may still fight for over one minute.
- 85% or more of self-defense shootings are in low light or darkness.
- 90% or more will be at 21ft or less, most are 10ft or less.
- If you are shot in the chest with a handgun, your chance of dying is 14%.
- If you are shot twice, your chances of dying are 70%.
- If shot in the chest with an AK-47, the odds of death are 17%, with a shotgun; 64%.
