The Consultants

Our Consultants, Instructors, and Assessors have received extensive training through a variety of professional organizations and have had direct exposure to violence through careers in the military, law enforcement, corrections or private security.

Assault Prevention has:

  • Provided consultation and instruction to 100+ federal, state and local Criminal Justice Agencies.
  • Provided consultation and instruction to 50+ private and non-profit organizations.
  • Provided personal protection for Executives, VIP’s, dignitaries, music and film celebrities.
  • Completed Violence Prediction Appraisals for targeted individuals and groups.
  • Completed Vulnerability Assessments for corporations and organizations.
  • Provided individual and group instruction to citizen groups and civilians since 1990.
  • Since 1980, has provided public speaking engagements and presentations (see topics and courses) for national, regional and local interests.

Our certification requirements for Instructors & Assessors:

  • Must meet and pass all requirements set forth by State Statute for purchasing and possessing a firearm.
  • Minimum age of 30 years.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must complete a state criminal history and records check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have significant previous experience in military, corrections, law enforcement or private security professions, or equivalent as determined solely by Assault Prevention.
  • Must successfully complete courses for which they provide instruction.
  • Must complete Assault Prevention Instructor Certification Course.
  • Must complete the annual Assault Prevention Instructor Recertification Program.
  • Must maintain standards of exceptional honesty, character and integrity.

In addition, our Instructors must display a complete understanding of the following principles:

  • Psycho-motor skills.
  • Gross, complex, and fine motor skills and their implications in the context of training.
  • Discrete, continuous, and serial skills and their implications in the context of training.
  • Open and closed skills and their implications in the context of training.
  • Types of motion and their implications in the context of training.
  • Affective skills.
  • The relationship between cognitive, affective, and motor skills and their implications in the context of training.
  • A thorough understanding of differentiated learning theories.
