Self Defense & Personal Protection for the Critical Thinker: If you look to the boxes in the right hand column of this website, you will see a number of categories, links and Free Self Defense Lessons. Each of these have been specifically selected to build a holistic understanding of self defense and personal protection. There are a number of factors that can affect your personal safety. Personal safety goes far beyond a self defense or martial arts course. As you explore these links please consider how each resource affects your personal safety. The Free Self Defense Lessons are located in the upper right corner on this website. If you have had no formal self defense training, this is a good place to start.

Although I am a martial arts practitioner and handgun instructor, I understand that 95% of personal safety is about knowing what to be aware of in your environment, how to process that information and understanding human behavior. When you order a course, you receive a PDF curriculum you work through at your own pace.

Each course has numbered lesson plans or sections for easy reference.

You will occasionally be directed to a password protected page on this website to view videos that accompany some of the lesson plans.

Additionally, you will receive DVDs in the mail that demonstrate very clearly and simply the physical techniques that are part of the course.

The Hippack

Public Speaking
Need a guest speaker for your conference, seminar or special event? These are also great perks for company employees. Although we can speak to a number of issues, we offer two primary presentations:
- Predicting Violence: Threat Assessment & Risk Management. The focus is on behavioral and environmental clues any person or organization can use to evaluate potentially violent individuals. We use a multi-media format in this 3-hour seminar.
- Personal Safety Seminar. This 90-minute, swift moving presentation is a great perk for your conference attendees. The focus is on violent criminal characteristics and the most powerful self defense principles we know – which are all cognitive.
